In a prelude to Volvo Group’s 100th-anniversary celebrations in 2027, Volvo Trucks have unveiled a special edition of their FH, FH16, FH Aero and FH16 Aero tractor units. The Volvo 100-Year Edition has been updated inside and out to enhance driver comfort and ambience while embracing the Group’s rich heritage.
The centenary celebration model – available to order from September 2026 – can be ordered in most driveline and chassis configurations currently used for the FH and FH Aero. The unveiling follows a series of recent updates to the electric, diesel and gas powertrains, aimed at improving performance, range, energy efficiency and power.
Jonathan Disley, design director at Volvo Trucks, said: ‘The 100-Year Edition truck celebrates what we have achieved over the past century, and it is a very special truck in more ways than one. The interior is both modern and premium, and an homage to Volvo’s history. The design was inspired by our Swedish heritage and the professionalism that comes from years of innovation and progress, as well as our customers’ trust and passion.’
Inside the 100-Year Edition’s cab, the seats have been redesigned with a new two-tone concept, a premium leather base, and an embroidered anniversary motif. Tan leather details have also been added to match the striping on the truck’s paintwork.
The special edition trucks feature unique illuminated doorsteps, plus LED strips on the console that can be set to red or white ambient lighting.
Another new feature is a welcome light – again, featuring the anniversary motif – projected on to the ground outside the truck when the door is open. The same motif appears on the new 3D-printed speaker grilles, while the curtains in the truck display a line-up of Volvo’s truck models from the past 100 years. A thicker, more luxurious black/grey floor mat with tan leather labels has also been added.
‘This special edition represents the peak of Volvo’s truck design and manufacturing over the past century – the result of 100 years’ worth of continual improvement in safety, quality, driver comfort, productivity, fuel efficiency and emissions savings,’ commented Jan Hjelmgren, head of product management at Volvo Trucks.
The Volvo 100-Year Edition is the latest in a series of special edition models, including the Volvo FH 25-Year Special Edition, the Volvo FH AeroEuro NCAP Special Edition, and the Volvo Ocean Race Limited Edition.
