| As industrial gear units become more compact and power-dense, thermal management is increasingly critical, especially in heavy industries such as mining and aggregates. SEWEURODRIVE now offers external oil cooling and pressure lubrication systems assembled in the U.S., reducing lead times from 14-20 weeks to as little as 6 weeks.
These systems are built at SEW-EURODRIVE’s Heavy Industry Gearing (HIG) facility in Wellford, SC, and designed to work with modern planetary and helical gear units where internal lubrication alone is no losnger sufficient. Supporting startup viscosities up to 5,000 cSt, they deliver consistent oil flow and thermal control under continuous or heavy load conditions. Three system configurations are available:
Each system is thermally validated for the specific application and can be skid-mounted or gear-mounted for layout flexibility. Optional components include 25µm duplex filters, temperature and pressure switches, and electro-optical contamination indicators, supporting predictive maintenance and oil condition monitoring. These solutions are ideal for gear-driven equipment such as conveyors, crushers, mills, and bucket elevators, where heat management is critical to uptime and longevity.
