McLanahan’s Sand Washing Plants

McLanahan offers advanced sand washing plants designed to produce high-quality, clean sand for a variety of applications. These sand washing solutions feature a range of equipment, including hydrocyclones, fine material screw washers, dewatering screens and classifying tanks, all designed to meet specific production goals. McLanahan’s plants are highly customizable, allowing producers to configure the plant based on the nature of their feed material and desired output. With a focus on efficiency and sustainability, McLanahan’s sand washing plants help to minimize water usage, enhance product quality and reduce operational costs. The company’s expertise in water recycling and tailings management also supports more sustainable practices in the sand washing process.

Sand washing plants play a big role in producing clean sand for all kinds of use. Whether it’s for construction or industrial applications or even processing recovered aggregates from construction and demolition debris, sand plants help you to achieve an in-spec product. These plants use specialized equipment to wash, classify and dewater sand to make sure it meets specific needs for each industry.

McLanahan Sand Wash PlantsConstruction Sand Plants are designed to provide sand for concrete, masonry and other building and infrastructure uses. McLanahan’s line of equipment includes Sand Classifying Tanks, Fine Material Screw Washers, Hydrocyclones and Separators™, Dewatering Screens, and Flat Bottom Classifiers, to name a few. The Sand Classifying Tank from McLanahan removes excess water, slimes and undesirable grain sizes from natural or crushed sand feeds, often creating multiple products from a single feed. Fine Material Screw Washers wash, classify and dewater sand in one machine. Hydrocyclones offer multiple functions, including classification, desliming and fines recovery, while Separators™ offer additional benefits of densifying and dewatering. McLanahan’s Lite’s-Out™ Flat Bottom Classifier removes lignite and other organics to improve sand quality. Dewatering Screens reduce moisture content in the sand for quicker sale and better housekeeping on site.

McLanahan Sand Wash PlantsFrac Sand Plants are designed to produce clean sand for use in the hydraulic fracturing process, where sand is used to keep fissures in the earth open, allowing oil and gas to flow. McLanahan’s frac sand plants typically include equipment such as Hydrocyclones and Hydrosizers™ for efficient classification and Attrition Cells/Scrubbers for cleaning and improving the turbidity and durability of the sand. Dewatering Screens are used to reduce moisture content in frac sand plants, making the drying processes more efficient.

McLanahan Sand Wash PlantsIndustrial Sand Plants focus on producing high-quality sand for a range of industries, such as glassmaking, filtration and ceramics. McLanahan offers Hydrocyclones for desliming and classification, Hydrosizers™ for making sharp separations and Attrition Cells for scrubbing away impurities and improving the turbidity of the sand. Dewatering Screens, Separators™ and Fine Material Screw Washers can be used to reduce moisture content ahead of the next stages of the production process.

C&D Recycling Plants allow for the recovery of valuable aggregates from construction and demolition debris, which often include materials like concrete, brick, metal and sand. With C&D waste, it is important to remove large debris and metal at the very start of the process with equipment such as scalping screens. McLanahan offers a range of crushers and screens for dry processing aggregate recovered from C&D waste streams, as well as washing, classifying and dewatering equipment for the wet processing side to improve the value of the recovered aggregate for end use in a wider range of applications. McLanahan also designs systems for processing debris from various sources, including hydrovac trucks and excavated soils. McLanahan’s equipment efficiently cleans and separates the useful aggregates from the other C&D debris, allowing them to be reused in new construction projects. This is a sustainable approach to aggregate production that reduces landfill waste while providing high-quality recycled materials.

McLanahan Sand Wash PlantsModular Wash Plants are compact, flexible systems that can be easily installed and relocated as needed. McLanahan’s modular plants are designed to be cost-effective and offer flexibility for producers with changing site requirements. These plants are typically skid-mounted, and McLanahan offers a range of modules that can be combined to form the perfect plant for a specific operation. This modular approach makes it easier for producers to adapt to new opportunities while keeping costs down.

McLanahan Sand Wash PlantsWater Recycling and Tailings Management are becoming more prevalent in sand washing plants, especially as water conservation becomes more important. McLanahan offers a range of water recycling solutions that help reduce the environmental impact of sand washing operations. Thickeners, Centrifuges and Filter Presses recover valuable water for reuse in the washing process, reducing freshwater requirements. This equipment, as well as Ultra Fines Recovery Plants, also separates solids from liquid in the wash plant waste stream, reducing the volume of material reporting to settling ponds, and in some instances, reducing the need for settling ponds altogether. Reducing or eliminating settling ponds helps with permitting requirements and frees up site space. In some cases, the solids material recovered by this equipment can be sold or reused on site. By using these systems, producers not only improve their sustainability but can also generate additional revenue by turning waste material into sellable byproducts.

McLanahan sand plants are designed with the needs of the producer in mind. Whether producing sand for concrete or glassmaking, fracking or foundries, or processing sand recovered from C&D debris for reuse, McLanahan can tailor a solution to meet your needs Backed by worldwide service and support for the lifetime of the equipment, McLanahan partners with producers to ensure their success.
