Designed to protect drilling tools while helping customers reduce their environmental footprint, the new grease combines proven performance, operational efficiency, and verified sustainability.
Epiroc Bio thread grease is engineered to withstand harsh drilling environments and extreme temperatures. Tested according to ISO standards, it helps reduce friction, prevents cold welding, and contributes to extended service life of rock drilling tools.

Certified for environmental responsibility
Epiroc Bio thread grease is formulated with biodegradable synthetic esters and renewable resources and is certified with the EU Ecolabel (Licence No. DE/027/331). It is also approved for underwater use. An ISO 14040/14044-compliant life cycle assessment shows a cradle-to-grave carbon footprint at least 45% lower than a conventional grease under defined assumptions and system boundaries.
Operational and cost efficiency
Unlike many conventional alternatives, Epiroc Bio thread grease is not classified as hazardous for transport or storage. The product also offers a shelf life that is more than twice that of comparable products, helping customers reduce waste, simplify logistics, and lower replenishment frequency.
