A 44 series SMS Self-Cleaning magnet is oriented inline with the systems primary crusher in order to remove everything from small wire mesh to 10-15’ long rebar. The UHMW cladding extends the life of the magnet by protecting the self-cleaning belt. Historically, in this type of application, an operator would pick the longer rebar off the primary belt coming out of the primary crusher. This poses safety risks, putting the operator in a difficult situation with continuous pieces of rebar coming at a constant flow. This SMS magnet is the perfect solution to alleviate the operator to do other necessary tasks while simultaneously improving the accuracy of metal removal.
