As 2024 winds down, and the equipment manufacturing industry looks to 2025 and beyond, AEM is pleased to announce it has set a record for largest membership in the association’s 125-plus-year history.

Earlier this month, AEM’s total member count broke the 1,100 mark for the first time in the association’s history, after welcoming 22 new companies in September. All told, 109 member companies have joined AEM in 2024, helping AEM top its previous membership record that was set almost one year ago and achieve an above-average member retention rate of 92%

“For the second straight year, we’re proud to achieve a record-breaking level of membership as we continue to build on our past successes, serve our member companies, and speak with one voice on behalf of equipment manufacturing,” said AEM Vice President of Sales and Membership Paul Flemming. “Thank you to all our members – whether they’re new to AEM or longtime supporters – and our talented staff at the association for making 2024 our most successful year yet.”

Building Momentum For Equipment Manufacturing

So far, this year has been a tremendously successful one for AEM. This past July, the association embarked on an unprecedented initiative to tell the story of the U.S. equipment manufacturing industry and celebrate the 2.3 million men and women who help build, power, and feed the world. The AEM Manufacturing Express visited more than 20 states and made stops made at 80-plus equipment manufacturers in communities across the Midwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic. After more than three-plus months on the road, the tour concludes this Thursday at AEM member company Husco in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

In addition, AEM hosted a pair of special member events in 2024. These gatherings served as valuable touchpoints between AEM and its members, provided attendees with the resources and insights they need to help drive organizational decision-making, as well as highlighted the leading-edge benefits and services offered by AEM.

These member benefits and services support many areas important to members – bipartisan industry advocacy, safety, environmental and global compliance programs, business/market intelligence, workforce, along with sales and marketing initiatives.

Over the course of the last several years, AEM has worked diligently to add or enhance several of its member services and benefits, including:

  • Quarterly Business Intelligence Equipment Market Outlook webinars
  • Market Share Statistics program initiatives
  • Member Education webinars
  • Up-to-date information on new regulations and product safety standards
  • Workforce Solutions
  • Demo Days
  • Workforce, Sustainability, and Safety toolkits
  • Advocacy initiatives

Finally, AEM continues to build upon its reputation as an organizer of industry events that connect member companies with their customers, increase their brand awareness, and help them adapt and prepare for future growth. 2024 highlights include:

  • A record-breaking Commodity Classic in Houston
  • A record-breaking World of Asphalt in Nashville
  • A bigger, better, and newly rebranded Product Safety & Stewardship Conference in Chicago
  • The second-ever Celebration of Modern Agriculture on the National Mall
