Today, over one million VEGA radar sensors are in use around the world. Through this experience, VEGA created VEGAPULS 6X. Powered by VEGA’s own custom radar chip, THE 6X® offers unparalleled precision and reliability. This chip is designed specifically for the needs of level measurement applications, with a greater bandwidth than the previous generation chip, allowing for such benefits as a shorter deadband when measuring solids – as close as 1 foot from the sensor.
For mining operations, VEGAPULS 6X presents a particular range of benefits across such applications as ore storage silos, crushers, and blast furnaces. THE 6X® is capable of making reliable measurements independent of dust, material composition, and high temperatures. Because it is a non-contact sensor, it is wear- and maintenance-free, saving mining operations from the time and monetary costs associated with equipment outages. This all comes in the form of one sensor that’s easy to set up and use, with intuitive wireless connectivity options via Bluetooth.
