In the competitive aggregate market, speed, quality, and innovation aren’t just nice-to-haves-they’re the difference between winning a job and losing it. Distributors are under pressure to deliver parts faster, extend wear life, and bring added value to their customers without being tied down by OEM lead times or rigid specifications.
ME Elecmetal, a global leader with over a century of mining expertise, has stepped into the aggregate space with a mission: apply the same grit, engineering excellence, and problem-solving mindset that built their mining reputation to help distributors outperform OEMs every day. That means delivering mining-grade durability, rapid turnaround, and integrated safety solutions backed by hands-on training and technical support that empower distributors and their customers to get the most from every product.
We sat down with Clinton Overman, Senior Director of Business Development & Aggregate Markets, to talk about how ME Elecmetal is reshaping the aggregate supply chain-through smarter wear solutions, responsive service, and the know-how to keep operations running at their best.
ME Elecmetal’s Aggregate Solutions
Interviewer: Clinton, ME Elecmetal is a household name in mining. How did the company translate that expertise into leadership in the aggregate market?
Clinton Overman: Our history in mining spans more than a century, and in that time, we’ve learned how to engineer wear parts that survive in the most demanding, high-impact environments on the planet. Mining taught us to think beyond just “parts supply” and focus on total operational performance-availability, safety, cost per ton, and long-term equipment health.
When we entered the aggregate market, we brought that same mentality. Aggregates face many of the same wear challenges-abrasion, impact, downtime costs-but the market moves faster, and customers need immediate, dependable solutions. That’s where we stand out: we combine the durability of mining-grade products with the velocity and flexibility distributors need to outperform OEMs.
Interviewer: You’ve said “outperforming OEMs” is core to your value proposition for distributors. What does that look like in real terms?
Clinton Overman: It comes down to speed, adaptability, and problem-solving:
Velocity that wins business: We move faster than the OEMs. From quote to delivery, our lead times help distributors get their customers running again before the OEM even ships. That’s critical when every hour of downtime is lost revenue.
Optimization without the OEM hassle:
OEMs often stick to standard specs, even when a site’s operating conditions change. We use data-driven analysis and field experience to recommend tweaks-geometry, metallurgy, or material combinations-that can improve wear life and throughput without locking the distributor into a rigid OEM program.
Quality that lasts: Our designs and metallurgy are built to meet or exceed OEM standards. We’ve seen customers increase wear life simply by switching to our alloys or by implementing subtle design changes.
Total product development partner: We don’t stop at jaw plates or bowls and mantles. We engineer apron feeder flights, blow bars, rubber wear components, and custom crusher safety tooling. The goal is to be a one-stop solution partner that adds value across multiple points in the plant.
Support that doesn’t disappear: Once a part ships, we’re still there-on-site if needed-training teams, troubleshooting, and ensuring the installation performs as promised.

Manufacturing Capabilities
Interviewer: Can you give an example of how your diversified manufacturing capabilities make a difference?
Clinton Overman: Sure. Take apron feeder flights. Ours are precision-engineered and undergo a full “fit-in-sequence” pre-assembly at our foundry. That means when they get to site, there are no surprises no interference issues, no rework. And, our customized manganese chemistries allow us to match the duty cycle and impact profile of our customer’s application to ensure optimized performance and wear life.
Another example is our ME PolyFIT® rubber mill liners. These are not off-the-shelf parts. They’re designed to the exact geometry and operating conditions of each mill-whether it’s a primary ball mill, AG mill, or even an FGD mill. We can adjust weight to meet structural limits, modify designs to improve grinding efficiency, and select from high-pressure molded rubber compounds for maximum abrasion resistance.
Crusher Products & Services
Interviewer: Crusher wear parts are a big part of ME Elecmetal’s aggregate offering. What sets yours apart in the market?
Clinton Overman: We approach crusher solutions the same way we do everything else-by focusing on performance, reliability, and ease of maintenance. We work closely with our clients, using strategic KPIs to guide design decisions and ensure every part meets or exceeds expectations.
Our wear parts portfolio includes over ten different manganese-bearing steel alloys to meet the demands of the toughest and most aggressive crushing applications. Every design is built for reliability and a seamless fit with existing equipment for rapid, hassle-free replacement. That means quicker liner changeouts, minimal downtime, and uninterrupted production.
Every design detail is aimed at maximizing uptime and reducing operational risk. The result is a solution that doesn’t just meet OEM performance it often surpasses it, while giving our customers a tangible competitive advantage.
Focus on Safety
Interviewer: Safety is a major operational concern. How is ME Elecmetal addressing that in aggregates?
Clinton Overman: Safety is non-negotiable. We integrate it into every product we design. Our Crusher Safety Tooling is a great example–it reduces human-machine interaction during maintenance. That means less exposure to pinch points, suspended loads, and confined spaces. The tooling is engineered for precision so crews can complete changeouts faster and with less physical strain.
The same philosophy applies to our replacement designs. If we can make a liner easier to handle or eliminate the need for grinding or modification on site, we’ve just improved safety and efficiency at the same time.
Optimization Tools and Services
Interviewer: Let’s talk about digital tools. How do they fit into your aggregate strategy?
Clinton Overman: Digital tools are critical to modernizing how we approach wear management. Three examples stand out:
3D Laser Scanning: We use it to create reverse engineering plans and as-built models with exact measurements. This ensures the replacement part fits perfectly the first time.
Wear Tracking: Our digital platform stores the wear history of each component, compares current wear rates to historical data, and predicts remaining life. We can deliver preliminary reports in as little as two hours and full reports in two days allowing proactive changeout planning.
QuickScan™ Crusher: This is a robotic scanning system for primary crushers. It’s remote-operated, so we can scan without personnel entering the chamber or manually cleaning surfaces. It delivers accurate 3D images that help us assess wear and plan maintenance without guesswork.
For distributors, these tools mean they can show customers not just what’s wearing out, but when and why, and have solutions ready before it becomes a problem.
Training
Interviewer: Training often gets overlooked in the supply chain. How is ME Elecmetal handling that?
Clinton Overman: That’s why we created Aggregate 360° Technical Workshops. We bring hands-on learning directly to a customer’s site, walking their teams through installation best practices, troubleshooting, and optimization strategies. It’s not just about using our parts-it’s about making sure the whole operation gets more efficient and safer.
A well-trained crew can extend wear life, reduce downtime, and spot potential issues earlier. For distributors, offering that level of expertise to their customers is a huge differentiator-and we help make that possible.
The ME Elecmetal Advantage
Interviewer: What tangible benefits are customers seeing from your approach?
Clinton Overman: The biggest wins are:
Extended service life: Our alloys and designs consistently outperform OEM wear life, which means fewer changeouts and lower costs per ton.
Reduced maintenance: More durable parts mean longer intervals between maintenance cycles, which improves uptime.
Efficient replacements: Our components are designed for quick, precise fit, which shortens changeouts and minimizes disruption to production schedules.
Proactive planning: With chamber optimization and liner changeout forecasting, customers can plan maintenance instead of reacting to failures.
Sustainability and Global Reach
Interviewer: Sustainability is a growing focus. What steps is ME Elecmetal taking?
Clinton Overman: We’re committed to the circular economy. While we do not currently recycle manganese castings, all of our other cast liners are 100% recyclable. We’ve developed hybrid recycling processes for large and medium-sized components, and we recover and remanufacture scrap grinding balls. It’s about reducing waste, lowering environmental impact, and helping customers meet their own ESG goals.
Interviewer: With such a global footprint, how do you ensure local responsiveness?
Clinton Overman: We have ten state-of-the-art metallurgical plants-in Chile, the USA, Peru, China, South Africa, Indonesia, and Zambia-which gives us both global capacity and local agility. In North America, we can respond quickly to urgent needs while still leveraging our global R&D, metallurgy, and manufacturing resources.
Interviewer: Finally, where can the industry connect with you and see these solutions firsthand?
