Armada Materials has completed another Tennessee acquisition as the company continues to fuel its bright start to the year.
The company confirmed it acquired Wright Paving Contractors, Inc. and Custom Stone, LLC (“Wright Companies”) of Fayetteville, Tennessee. It follows the acquisition of Volunteer Materials and its group of companies last year.
“We are pleased to join with the Wright Companies and their team to grow the Armada Materials family of companies. We look forward to combining the extremely talented professionals of both the Wright Companies and our existing platform company, Volunteer Materials,” Armada Materials chief executive Rob Duke said.
“As a combined organisation with an expanded footprint, we are well positioned to provide infrastructure materials in the fast-growing Middle Tennessee market.”
It was confirmed that Grad Wright would continue as operations manager as part of the deal. Wright Companies started in 1973 with three trucks before growing to 50 employees with locations in Pottsville, Shelbyville, and Fayetteville.
The company will be combined with Armada’s existing Volunteer Materials operations in Tennessee.
“We are excited about the combination of our family’s business with the Volunteer Materials platform,” Wright Companies owner Tommy Wright said.
“The Armada team has consistently stood on their word and was able to make this a smooth transition for me, my family, and our wonderful employees.”
It comes after the Armada deal which kept Chad Swallows, president of Volunteer, Michael Valesky, chief financial officer, and the entire operating team at Volunteer to help further growth opportunities after that deal last year.
“We have assembled a premier group of leaders and advisors with deep industry experience and a shared vision as the acquirer of choice for private owners considering a sale of their business,” Duke said in a statement last year.
“We are very excited to team up with Volunteer and its management team under the leadership of Chad Swallows. Volunteer is an ideal, first platform for Armada with key locations in Tennessee positioned for further growth.”
