Our metal detectors are offered as a complete system with splice sensor kit and metal marking accessories. The belt splice sensor detects metallic belt splices or repair clips up-stream of the metal detector. When the sensor detects one of these, it sends a signal to the detector to turn down its sensitivity just enough to allow the belt splice/repair clip to pass without triggering the metal detector. While this reduction allows the belt splice to pass, it’s still sensitive enough to detect the incremental signal of metal that could be in the material on top of the splice. This makes use of a more cost-effective spliced belt possible. A metal marker device drops a high visibility marker at the location of tramp metal that is found by the detector and stops the conveyor. The dispensed marker helps the operator locate the metal that must be removed, making the process more efficient and less time consuming. This allows the belt to be restarted, resuming production more quickly.
