Dry run capability is designed into Gorman-Rupp’s unique priming-assisted system. An oversized, oil lubricated seal allows the pump to run dry continuously without causing any damage. For sewage bypass operations, construction site or mine dewatering or any other application where intermittent flow can be a problem, these dependable, versatile performers help contractors and municipalities move large volumes of liquid — fast.
Dry Priming
The Prime Aire® and Prime Aire Plus® pump systems use a venturi compressor priming chamber and priming valve which eliminates the leaks associated with traditional priming-assisted pumps.
Compressed air is forced through the venturi by the air compressor to create a vacuum. The air in the pump casing and section line are then evacuated with the compressed air to the atmosphere. The pump begins to prime as atmospheric pressure causes water to replace the evacuated air.
This unique system reduces environmental concerns on sewage bypass operations and also enables the pump to operate under flooded suction conditions without leaking. The positive priming capabilities of the PA Series® make them the perfect choice for applications where large volumes of air is in the liquid being pumped, there are intermittent flows or there are long or oversized suction lines.
Submersible
S Series® Widebase: Designed To Handle The Toughest Jobs
Whether suspended above the soft, murky bottom of a cofferdam or churning away deep inside a strip mine, tunnel or quarry, Gorman-Rupp S Series Widebase submersible dewatering pumps tackle the big jobs. These pumps are specifically engineered for efficient and economical dewatering and operate quietly under the surface, making them less prone to vandalism and weather conditions than above-ground pumps.
Where large solids passage is not required, these versatile models offer high-head, high-volume operation and stand up to the worst conditions. S Series Widebase submersible pumps are built to operate quietly, effectively and safely. The wide, solid base helps prevent pumps from turning into the ground or pumping into a hole.

S Series® Slimline: Fitting Where You Need Them
For drilled wells, narrow cofferdams and hard-to-reach locations, Gorman-Rupp’s S Series Slimline submersible dewatering pumps are lighter and easier to handle than Widebase models. The design of the S Series Slimline is especially suited for use where space is limited, allowing these pumps to go where others cannot. To create additional weight reduction, several models are available with DuraBlue™ suction head, seal plate and diffuser as standard.
Gorman-Rupp Durablue™
Polyurethane seal plate, diffuser and suction head are specially designed for submersible pumps. Several S Series Slimline models are available with DuraBlue urethane for longer life and increased abrasion resistance.

SM Series® MSHA Approved: Working Hard In Hazardous Locations
The SM Series® is a full line of submersible pumps approved by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for use in gassy mines or tunnels. SM Series pumps offer the same benefits and dimensions as S Series Slimline pump models.
Safe, Reliable Pumping
Explosion Proof Motors
These motors are specifically designed for vertical submersible pumps and meet all MSHA requirements.
Controls
All MSHA submersible pumps are equipped with a NEMA Type 10 explosion-proof control box. Enclosures are constructed of lightweight cast aluminum and are equipped with hydraulic/ magnetic fast-trip circuit breakers for thermal and overload explosion-proof protection. When automatic operation is required, an optional intrinsically safe float controller is available.

Eradicator Plus™ Advanced Solids Management
For those extreme-duty applications where trash bags, wipes, hair, industrial by-products and agricultural wastes are present, Gorman-Rupp has introduced the Eradicator Plus™. Based on the same principles of the Eradicator, this new solids reduction technology is ideal when cutting and tearing of debris entering the pump is required. Eradicator Plus models, the most aggressive in the Super T Series product lineup, are available in 3”, 4” and 6” discharge sizes. Optional impellers and wearplates available in 600 Bhn (Brinell) for Eradicator Plus models.
Heavy-Duty Impeller
Eradicator Plus pumps are equipped with a rugged, heavy-duty continuous vane impeller constructed of G-R Hard Iron for the most aggressive waste-handling applications. The pump out vanes incorporated into the thick back shroud help prevent the buildup of debris behind the impeller.
Replaceable Wearplate
The wearplate incorporated into Eradicator Plus pumps is constructed of extra-thick G-R Hard Iron. It utilizes the same notches and grooves as the Eradicator wearplate, but with an oversized lacerating tooth that is designed to cut and shred organic solids before they enter the interior of the pump.
Mining
Whether it’s a copper mine in Montana, a coal mine in Kentucky or a gold mine in Alaska, you’ll find Gorman-Rupp pumps working reliably day after day, week after week, and year after year, to keep mine operations running smoothly–guaranteed.
