Cemex US recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its Four Corners Sand Facility in Clermont, a new operation expected to produce about 1.2 million tons of commercial sand each year for Central Florida construction projects.
Local builders will have access to sand and aggregates used in concrete, asphalt and infrastructure work. With its modern design, the operation creates a reliable regional supply that strengthens local supply chains, supports affordability, and helps meet Central Florida’s growing demand for hospitals, schools, homes and other essential infrastructure.
“Four Corners strengthens the region by providing an affordable and reliable source of sand and aggregates needed to build essential infrastructure, from roads and schools to hospitals and new homes,” said Jeff Bobolts, Senior Vice President of Aggregates for Cemex US. “These materials keep projects on schedule and help control costs for families and local businesses. We’re proud to serve this community and grateful for the many partnerships that made this facility a reality.”
The Four Corners site uses a dry-sand production process with a plate-and-filter press system that recycles water within the facility, reducing water use.
