Micromine, next-generation technology for mining, has unveiled its 2025 Half-Year Release, reinforcing its solution offering across the entire mining cycle. The release introduces two major updates that elevate key workflows in geology and underground mine planning.

Micromine Origin now includes Grade Copilot – the industry’s leading AI-powered modelling tool – in all geology modelling and resource estimation subscriptions, supporting the shift toward modern, data-driven geology by making advanced capabilities part of everyday workflows.

Micromine Advance becomes the industry’s most comprehensive underground planning tool with its integrated Stope Optimizer. Developed by Micromine, it is one of many new tools that give engineers everything required for underground mine planning, in a unified environment.

These headlined innovations are part of a collective rollout of enhancements across Micromine’s suite of eight integrated solutions. These solutions empower users to unlock new levels of efficiency across every stage of the mining value chain. Users can expect innovations such as AI-driven workflows, cloud-native collaboration, and expanded planning capabilities in this update.

“We’re proud to continue assisting our customers to unlock more value from their projects, through integrated technology that adapts to their evolving needs and real-world challenges,” stated Andrew Birch, Micromine Chief Executive Officer. “This Half-Year Release is a milestone moment, further strengthening our commitment to creating a digital platform that helps customers optimise their performance at each step across the entire mining cycle.”

“By integrating AI, automation, and real-time collaboration, we ensure our solutions remain at the forefront of technological development.”

See below the key feature highlights, designed to support every stage of the mining lifecycle.

Exploration and Geology

Micromine Geobank, geoscience data logging and management software, can now be cloud-deployable within the Micromine Nexus platform. It offers flexible, web-based access to your geological database. With secure cloud hosting and a single source of truth anytime, anywhere, the need for physical infrastructure or ongoing maintenance has been eliminated.

Micromine Origin, geological modelling and visualization software, continues to redefine modern geology workflows. With AI now a core part of geology and resource estimation subscriptions, users can generate reliable models in minutes, test hypotheses with confidence, and focus on higher-value work. New tools enhance everyday tasks – from domaining and drillhole planning to in-workflow RPEEE assessments – helping geologists uncover insights faster and raise the bar for best practices.

Design and Planning

New enhancements in mine design solution, Micromine Beyond, improve pit design and highlight stronger collaboration between designers and planners, driving more integrated and efficient mine planning. Automated tools allow users to adjust ramps, benches, and berms quickly, with changes cascading automatically to save time and effort. Integration with Micromine Alastri enables pit designs to move directly into short and long-term scheduling through a simple drag-and-drop workflow; reducing errors and helping planners work faster and with greater confidence.

New functionality in Micromine Spry, soft rock mine planning, brings a new suite of dependency tools to mine scheduling. These tools make it easier to visualize, create, and adapt dependencies to make confident decisions – faster.  Users can plan with flexibility, in a way that better reflects how the mine is expected to operate in practice.

Mine planning for open-pit metals, Micromine Alastri, introduces new capabilities to reduce assumptions and produce mine plans that better reflect operations. Engineers can now model the mine with greater control and deeper insights, improving the quality of tactical planning and haulage analysis. By capturing more detail in mine schedules, planners can create more reliable plans that drive production, support better decision-making, and power long-term value.

Launched earlier this year, Micromine Advance is already evolving fast, becoming a one-stop-shop for underground mine planning. An in-house-developed stope optimizer is a major step forward, allowing engineers to generate stope shapes and schedule in one environment. It’s one of several new tools now included in Micromine Advance as standard, making it a complete solution for an engineer’s underground mine planning needs.

Operation

OEM-agnostic mine production, control, and fleet management solution, Micromine Pitram, delivers greater visibility to elevate underground mining performance. The new Shotcrete Tracker enables users to track shotcrete from batch plant to underground application with greater accountability and clarity. Additional enhancements include Equipment Sub-Status for deeper insights into downtime, and improved Pitram Resilience to ensure data continuity during network interruptions.

Data Management & Collaboration

The Micromine Nexus platform continues to evolve as the central hub for connected mining. This release introduces key upgrades that improve access, control, and collaboration across the mining value chain – including the arrival of Geobank in the Cloud and new cloud-based licensing for Micromine Origin, Beyond, and Geobank. By breaking down data silos and enabling real-time collaboration, Nexus empowers teams to work smarter across sites, tools, and disciplines – with no infrastructure to manage and the flexibility to scale as needed.

In summary of the Half-Year Release, Mr Birch concluded, “This release reaffirms Micromine’s commitment to innovation and partnership with the mining industry. Our focus remains clear: to deliver technology that empowers users to succeed at each step of the entire mining cycle.”
