SHARKUDA® Dredge Class
This new dredge class is designed to excel in areas otherwise difficult to access. SHARKUDA® incorporates two newly patented technologies: the new walking carriages allow the dredge to continually move forward without anchors for continuous, uninterrupted production; and the new swinging ladder allows for wide deep swings to operate more efficiently than any other conventional dredge on the market. Available with diesel or electric power, the SHARKUDA® can reach dredging depths down to 43 feet (13.1 m). Standard discharge sizes range from 12inches (300 mm) to 18 inches (450 mm). Ideal dredging applications include aggregate mining, lake management, river dredging, contract dredging, environmental clean-up and coastal restoration. Standard Sharkuda® Features:
DSC Vision
DSC VISION delivers:
Marlin Class Dredge
The Marlin Class mining dredge is designed to reach extreme dredging depths due to its underwater pump system and high-torque cutter drive assembly. Available with diesel or electric power, the Marlin can reach dredging depths down to 96 feet (29.3 m). Standard discharge sizes range from 10 inches (250 mm) to 24 inches (600 mm). With customization, the Marlin can reach dredging depths of 200 feet (61 m) and discharge sizes can range up to 36 inches (900 mm)—accommodating a wide range of applications and conditions while maximizing efficiency.
Shark Class Dredge
HULL PUMP CONVENTIONAL DREDGE The Shark Class conventional dredge offers the features of a larger dredge in an exceptionally portable design. Available with diesel or electric power, the Shark includes a PLC operating system, electro-proportional hydraulic circuits, high-capacity service water system and an inline direct marine-style transmission for dredge pump reduction. The Shark is customizable to exact application and production requirements.
Barracuda Class Dredge
HULL PUMP SWINGING LADDER DREDGE The Barracuda Class dredge features a swinging-ladder design and is easily transportable, making it ideal for navigational, recreational or restorative projects such as waterway maintenance or lake revitalization. Available in diesel or electric power, the standard Barracuda Class dredge discharge sizes range from 10 inches (250 mm) to 18 inches (450 mm)—specified for your application. Custom options and discharge sizes available upon request.
Moray Class Dredge
SUBMERGED PUMP SWINGING LADDER DREDGE With its hydraulically driven underwater pump assembly, the Moray Class swinging ladder dredge is ideally matched to the current dredging industry trend of pumping low flow rates with higher-percent solids—including applications such as pumping into geotubes or retention areas that do not accommodate large volumes of water. It is available with an 8-inch (200 mm) discharge configuration and offers single-truck portability in most areas of the world. Custom features, sizes and designs available.
Custom Dredge Projects
Workboats Every jobsite is different. And sometimes a standard workboat isn’t suitable or even prepared for unique working conditions. That’s why DSC works with you to design every aspect of your workboat—from size and power to personal preferences—to ensure that you have the equipment necessary for optimum safety and efficiency.
Workboats are often called upon to transport personnel, fuel and other necessary items to the operating dredge; push or tow the dredge or transport barge; assist in mounting or removal of floating pipes; and assist during repair and maintenance of dredge equipment. Boosters
A dredge can only move so far away from the discharge point before even its maximum speed can’t maintain production rates. But introducing a booster pump will allow the dredge pump to operate more efficiently, while drastically reducing wear and tear on equipment and resulting in steady slurry delivery. As a floating barge- or land-based unit, located between the dredge pump and discharge point, a booster pump adds pressure to the dredge system—perfect for jobs that require longer pipeline lengths before the pipeline ever reaches the shore. The additional pump will help maintain proper slurry velocity within the pipeline and keep production levels high while preventing materials from becoming too dense and reducing the likelihood of pipeline plugging. Because every jobsite is unique, DSC Dredge can help you determine the size, power and location of your booster pump for maximum efficiency. We also offer training and technical support to ensure you’re getting the most consistent and reliable performance from your dredge and booster pump every step of the way. Dredge Equipment Customization
At DSC Dredge, we specialize in customizing dredging equipment to meet the exact requirements of your unique application. DSC Dredge employs the largest dredge design/engineering team among all North American and most global manufacturers. Our roots go back more than 60 years as a family-owned and -operated dredge manufacturer. And during that time, we have built hundreds of dredges. Our six standard dredge models are world-class. But our strength lies in our ability to modify or custom design any dredge to fit almost any application.
How do we do it?
- We explore all of the details of your project, such as the materials being dredged, length of flow run, depths, discharge point elevation, engine and pump preference and any other relevant information.
- You may require extreme dredging depths, deeper hulls or increased excavation power. We can make all of that happen and more.
- We involve you in every aspect of building your dredge—from specification and options to manufacture to delivery, training and maintenance.
- Upon delivery, your dredge typically will be assembled by DSC Dredge personnel and placed in service only after we run it through intensive testing.
- We then fully train your operating staff to ensure they understand the unit and its functions, so they can quickly and competently begin dredging your project.
Dredge Operation Training and Education
DSC Dredge offers numerous different and flexible training options for companies that are new DSC dredge owners. We also offer training to any company that seeks to educate its personnel on dredge operation, mine planning, dredge maintenance or maximizing dredging efficiency—even if the company operates other dredge brands.
All new DSC Dredge owners have access to a 2-day training course at DSC’s primary U.S. training facility in Reserve, Louisiana, as well as onsite operational training when the dredge is officially launched. The first day of training reviews the fundamentals of dredging, while the second day focuses on the specific operations and maintenance of the new dredge. For more information about DSC Dredge’s training options, please visit website.
Ongoing Customer Support
