DSC Vision
DSC Vision is a  highly innovative, user-friendly bottom visualization system that allows dredge operators and managers to “stop dredging in the dark.” The DSC Vision system integrates geographical dredge cutterhead position and heading, multibeam sonar imaging and mapping, dredge navigation and instrumentation, remote connectivity and monitoring, and a user graphical display and software interface that correctly depicts the current dredge location, depth of the cutterhead, and topography of the bottom. This technology leaves little to chance as the operator can see the entire bottom around the dredge and this data is stored into a comprehensive map of the dredging area or mine site for computation, historical documentation and future planning.

DSC DredgeDSC Vision

DSC VISION delivers:

  • Increased Efficiency The ability to visualize the changing underwater environment allows operators to move accurately and efficiently, expediting dredge operations and increasing profitability.
  • Return on Investment Easy-to-follow color-coded progress view puts an end to over-dredging, high spots, and/or the need to go back for additional clean-ups. The ability to surgically dredge decreases operating costs, allowing the technology to pay for itself and more.
  • Operator Confidence Even new operators can quickly and easily understand and adapt to the technology; more experienced operators work faster with real-time updates allowing for greater control.
  • Mine Planning The technology creates a map showing where dredging operations have and have not occurred. With a quick scan from the dredge, cave-ins can be detected, and the operator can recover the material left behind.
  • Real-Time Sonar Verification: Only DSC VISION delivers integrated, real-time updates of the work area via sonar scans to identify progress and help detect target areas before moving the dredge, reducing rework and ensuring the job is completed to specification.
  • Safety: The guidance and inspection system ensures full situational awareness to locate and identify submerged, partially buried unknown objects, cables, or other hazards under the waterline before and while digging.
  • A Solution for Every Job DSC VISION can be provided with varying levels of accuracy and bottom detection for jobs of any cost and complexity. The system can be integrated into all processor-controlled DSC Dredge models and can be added to any existing dredge from other manufacturers.
  • Reporting Full reporting capabilities allow managers to monitor job progress, validate project completion, and compare project efficiency.
  • Remote Access Real-time remote access to the operator’s screen allows for project training, troubleshooting, support, and status updates from anywhere in the world.

Workboats
Workboats are multifunction vessels designed to provide dredge support and auxiliary work for the dredging site.

Every jobsite is different. And sometimes a standard workboat isn’t suitable or even prepared for unique working conditions. That’s why DSC works with you to design every aspect of your workboat—from size and power to personal preferences—to ensure that you have the equipment necessary for optimum safety and efficiency.

DSC Dredge Custom Dredges

Workboats are often called upon to transport personnel, fuel and other necessary items to the operating dredge; push or tow the dredge or transport barge; assist in mounting or removal of floating pipes; and assist during repair and maintenance of dredge equipment.
Our customers routinely overcome challenging conditions with tailored solutions. DSC Workboats can be outfitted with a full range of options, including upgrades to the pilot house, crews’ quarters, deck cranes and completely original features that may be implemented by request.

Boosters
Booster pumps offer greater overall efficiency and a higher rate of production with less wear and tear on your equipment.

DSC

A dredge can only move so far away from the discharge point before even its maximum speed can’t maintain production rates. But introducing a booster pump will allow the dredge pump to operate more efficiently, while drastically reducing wear and tear on equipment and resulting in steady slurry delivery.

As a floating barge- or land-based unit, located between the dredge pump and discharge point, a booster pump adds pressure to the dredge system—perfect for jobs that require longer pipeline lengths before the pipeline ever reaches the shore. The additional pump will help maintain proper slurry velocity within the pipeline and keep production levels high while preventing materials from becoming too dense and reducing the likelihood of pipeline plugging.

Because every jobsite is unique, DSC Dredge can help you determine the size, power and location of your booster pump for maximum efficiency. We also offer training and technical support to ensure you’re getting the most consistent and reliable performance from your dredge and booster pump every step of the way.

Options – Different sizes and levels of power available, as well as variable-speed and fixed-speed drives—specified to each unique application

But our strength lies in our ability to modify or custom design any dredge to fit almost any application.

    How do we do it?

    • We explore all of the details of your project, such as the materials being dredged, length of flow run, depths, discharge point elevation, engine and pump preference and any other relevant information.
    • You may require extreme dredging depths, deeper hulls or increased excavation power. We can make all of that happen and more.
    • We involve you in every aspect of building your dredge—from specification and options to manufacture to delivery, training and maintenance.
    • Upon delivery, your dredge typically will be assembled by DSC Dredge personnel and placed in service only after we run it through intensive testing.
    • We then fully train your operating staff to ensure they understand the unit and its functions, so they can quickly and competently begin dredging your project.
