Wellsville Foundry Expands Facility
Wellsville Foundry, which specializes in high performance wear castings for high wear environments, has established a new business unit to better serve a growing customer base in aggregate mining and processing.
Wellsville supplies OEM and replacement castings weighing 35 grams to 1800-pounds in short to medium runs. A recent facility expansion, which preceded the new business unit, includes a full melt lab and extensive metallographic capability. It allows the company to focus on the prototyping, manufacturing and testing of new and replacement wear parts used by the aggregate and asphalt industries.
The foundry expansion also provides added capacity for casting two new proprietary Wellsville materials, WD3 and WD3+. Both are ductile iron based alloys delivering 3-5X the service life of standard ductile or gray iron in sliding friction tests.
