The new Off-Highway Truck and Mining Truck Personal Simulators join the growing line of cost effective, portable, PC-based, heavy equipment simulators. These simulators enable equipment operator training without high cost equipment downtime and possible damage. Mining and Aggregate industry haul truck tires, a scare resource, and fuel are also spared.
Developed in collaboration with leading OEM and training professionals, these simulators put you at the controls of a modern 85-100 ton heavy hauler as it interacts with a simulated wheel loader, or a 200 plus ton unit as it interacts with a simulated shovel. (Available in English, French or Spanish). The virtual sites are modeled after real quarries and mines. A total of six simulation lessons of increasing difficulty make this an effective and affordable training tool. The first one, "Controls Familiarization", introduces the operator controls. The final one, "Complete Haul Cycle", combines loading, driving, and dumping. All data is tracked to allow comparison to benchmarks.
The costs of a commercial software license start at just US$6,000 for the OFF-highway and US$10,000 for the Mining versions. Two kinds of simulator controls are available: 1) basic Logitech steering wheel and shifter (plus separate retarder) or 2) a complete, realistic replica of the actual haul truck controls. Either option connects to a standard USB port on most modern personal computers.
